on this cold winter day my kids are busying building forts, playing Just Dance, fighting over everything and I have to work. I am a small business owner that doesn't get "snow days". But, I do get to decided what I work on- today I took a little break from designing albums, returning emails, etc to share with you something that is near and dear to my heart. My daughter, Reese- the artist. I remember watching TV with her and Sarah McLachlan was preforming, Reese must have been 3 or 4. I asked her if she knew what Sarah McLachlan art is. She took a few minutes to really think about it then just matter-of-factly said, "her art is her voice". Then I asked her if she knew what her own art was and she said, "yes, my art is my paint brush!" yes it is my love♥ I will never forget that conversation!
In her short 7 years she has painted on almost every surface in our house with anything she could get her hands on; toothpaste, mascara, lipstick, pudding, the list goes on and on. For some reason I never got upset about it, it has always tickled my soul that she is such a creative person. I understand her need to create, to express yourself with art, to just be so lost in what you are doing nothing else matters.
Although I too am an artist, my children will always be my greatest creation.
